Age group: 18–30 years old (plus one group leader, 18+)
We are excited to invite 6 young people (ages 18–30) and 1 group leader (age 18+) to take part in the international Youth Exchange “Sense the World: Experiencing the Unseen” under the Erasmus+ program, hosted by ATA – the Youth Association from Transylvania.
This inspiring project brings together young people from 5 different countries to raise awareness and develop empathy for the daily experiences of visually impaired individuals.
About the project
This 8-day exchange will offer participants the opportunity to:
- Experience the world from the perspective of visually impaired individuals.
- Learn guiding techniques, basic Braille, and assistive technology.
- Participate in blindfolded activities and community workshops.
- Explore cultural differences in supporting people with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with other young people to promote inclusion.
Travel & location:
- The exchange takes place in Cristuru Secuiesc, a small and vibrant town in Eastern Transylvania, Romania, known for its multicultural community and scenic surroundings. Nearby cities include Sighișoara and Odorheiu Secuiesc.
- Main travel days: July 2 (arrival) and July 11 (departure).
- We highly encourage participants to choose eco-friendly travel options such as trains, buses, or car-sharing.
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Erasmus+ rules. Please keep all receipts, tickets, and boarding passes.
Accommodation
Accommodation & Meals are fully covered by the Erasmus+ program. Participants will stay at Petőfi Motel and Fogadó Vendégház, in shared rooms (4 beds per room) with private bathrooms.
Three meals per day with coffee breaks and refreshments will be provided at the Fogadó Vendégház , with attention to allergies and dietary needs.
The host will support participants with support during travel in Romania

Eligible participants should:

Be interested in learning more about the experience and challenges of visually impaired individuals or be visually impaired themselves.

Be able to communicate in English

Be available from July 2 to July 11, 2025

Be willing to participate in blindfolded activities and contribute to group reflection sessions

Be motivated to share the project experience with their peers after returning home
