The Final Event of the European Citizenship Academy (ECA) took place in Brussels from 17–19 November, bringing together partners from France, Macedonia, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal for an inspiring closing chapter of our two-year journey.
The day began with a partners’ meeting, where coordinators from all countries reviewed the progress of the project, reflected on the achievements, outlined the final reporting steps, and coordinated the plan for the closing activities. Together, they prepared for a joint visit to the Parlamentarium and the final evaluation session.
As planned, partners and young participants visited the Parlamentarium, immersing themselves in interactive exhibitions that illustrate the history, functioning, and decision-making processes of the European Union. This shared learning moment offered new perspectives and set the tone for meaningful reflection and discussion.
In the evening, we gathered for the final evaluation event — a moment to celebrate accomplishments, exchange experiences, and appreciate the impact of our collaboration. Each partner organization presented the results of their local activities, highlighting the positive changes fostered in their communities and the diverse ways young people engage with active citizenship across Europe.
Youth participants also shared personal reflections on how the ECA project influenced their skills, confidence, and understanding of European citizenship, creating an atmosphere of openness and mutual appreciation.
As the project comes to its official close, the Brussels event reminded us of the value of youth exchanges and European cooperation. We remain proud of everything achieved — the ideas developed, the friendships formed, and the growth experienced. While this chapter ends, its inspiration will continue to guide our work in the future.
