Today in Bitola, with the event – Promotion of the results of the activities of the “Peer School for Mental Health of Children and Youth”, another successful project was concluded.

The event was opened by Viktor Iliev from YMCA who as a project leader presented the project and its benefits, especially the creation of a group of peer educators, who successfully went through a series of trainings and transferred their knowledge to their schools. His speech was supported by the presentation of the mayor of the Municipality of Bitola, Toni Konjanovski, who supported the initiative with wishes and guidelines for support for their continuation.

After that followed the presentation and promotion of the mental health manual, where the creators Jovce Krsteski and Sasho Kochankovski shared their experience in creating it, the research that preceded it and how it can be used in the future. This discussion was supplemented by Martina (who led the support group for parents with children with developmental disabilities) and Renata (who led the support group for single-parent families)

Both of them gave a brief overview of their experience in the groups, the expectations and challenges they faced, with a message that this type of workshops should be expanded to include other target groups and problems the people are facing. At the end, they gave the floor to one of the parents who is an active member of the support groups, who selflessly shared her experience and the benefits she is getting from the support group.

The event would not have been so good if it had not been enriched with music and song, as a result from composed songs. The songs were based on given words and phrases in the field of mental health, from the topics that were covered in the Peer School of Peer Educators for the mental health of children and young people. From that compilation a song was created to which was added a music at the end, that ended up with a complete song with a powerful message.
