Program Description

Overview:
The Youth Empowerment program at Poraka Nova equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to become changemakers in their communities. By combining leadership development, civic education, and social innovation training, the program fosters a generation of socially responsible, proactive, and impact-driven youth.

Objectives:

• To inspire and prepare young people to become active citizens who advocate for inclusion, equality, and human rights.

• To cultivate youth-led social innovation by teaching young people how to identify community needs and design sustainable solutions.

• To promote youth participation in democratic processes, social initiatives, and inclusive development at local, national, and European levels.

Key Activities:

• Civic & Citizenship Education: Workshops and campaigns that teach youth about their rights, responsibilities, and roles as active members of society.

• Leadership & Social Impact Training: Structured programs to develop leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and project management capacity.

• Youth Innovation Labs: Creative spaces for co-designing and prototyping community-focused initiatives, with an emphasis on inclusion and accessibility.

• Mentorship & Peer Learning: Ongoing guidance from experienced social innovators, paired with youth-to-youth mentoring models.

• Volunteering & Engagement Opportunities: Hands-on experiences that allow young people to contribute to community development and build real-world impact.

• Digital Empowerment: Training in digital tools, social media, and technology to amplify youth voices and support inclusive activism.

Impact:
Poraka Nova’s Youth Empowerment program nurtures socially conscious leaders who are equipped to tackle today’s challenges with courage and creativity. Our approach transforms youth from passive observers into active architects of change—driving forward a more inclusive, just, and innovative society for all.

Our Work

Inevitable part of the work of Poraka Nova is involvement of young people, volunteers and interns. We have numerous activities and projects for promotion of youth information, volunteering, youth exchanges and mobilities. Namely, Poraka Nova is a member of ERYICA – European Youth Information and Counselling Agency, through which we promote the importance of youth having equal access to quality and free information as a prerequisite for them to make use of their rights, to make responsible decisions and to participate in society in its social, economic and political dimensions. This is why the right to information is widely recognized in major legal and political documents at national, European and International level, and this is the role that Youth Information plays across Europe.

We currently implement three youth projects, NEUEYT, YInfoPeers and YInfoPioneers, and we provide educational opportunites for young people all over the wolrd with our platform mladiinfo.eu.
